## TL;DR

- **Standardization percentage** is the first thing to check. Without it, milligrams mean less than they appear to.
- **Proprietary blends** give one combined weight for several ingredients and the amount of none of them.
- **Absorption matters most for curcumin**, which is poorly absorbed without an enhancer.
- **Count mechanisms, not ingredients.** Nine ingredients on one pathway is a one-pathway product.
- **Ninety days is the honest timeline** for anything acting on inflammatory signalling, which is why our programme and our guarantee both run that long.

If you are weighing a Golden Revive alternative, the comparison worth making is not brand against brand — it is label against label. Across joint and inflammation supplements, four things separate them: whether botanical extracts are standardized with the percentage stated, whether doses are disclosed per ingredient or hidden in a proprietary blend, whether anything addresses absorption, and how many distinct mechanisms the formula covers. Ingredient names on the front of the bottle tell you very little.

## Why the front of the bottle tells you almost nothing

Joint and inflammation supplements are a crowded category, and most of them list broadly similar ingredients: turmeric, boswellia, sometimes bromelain, sometimes magnesium or a collagen component.

Which makes the front label nearly useless for comparison. Two products naming the same four ingredients can deliver very different amounts of the compounds that actually do the work.

The differences that matter are all on the back.

## The four things worth checking

### 1. Is each botanical standardized, and is the percentage stated?

This is the single most informative thing on a supplement label and the most frequently missing.

Frankincense resin and turmeric root are natural products. The concentration of active compounds varies by species, growing conditions and processing. "Boswellia 400mg" tells you the weight of plant material — not how much boswellic acid is in it.

"Standardized to 65% boswellic acids" tells you. We explain the detail, including the difference between total boswellic acids and AKBA specifically, in [what AKBA is and why standardization matters](/post/what-is-akba-boswellia).

### 2. Are doses disclosed per ingredient?

A **proprietary blend** lists several ingredients and gives one combined weight. "Joint Support Blend, 1,200mg" might be 1,100mg of the cheapest ingredient and 100mg spread across the rest. You cannot tell, and that is the purpose of the format.

If the label shows a blend weight rather than per-ingredient doses, a standardization percentage elsewhere tells you how concentrated that extract is, but not how much of it you are getting — knowing the delivered dose needs both numbers.

### 3. Does anything address absorption?

Curcumin is poorly absorbed on its own. Piperine from black pepper extract substantially increases how much reaches circulation ([Shoba et al., 1998](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9619120/)).

A formula with a large curcumin dose and no absorption strategy is delivering less than the number suggests.

### 4. How many mechanisms does it actually cover?

Inflammation is not one process. Counting ingredient names overstates coverage, because several ingredients often act on the same pathway.

We formulate against six areas — inflammatory signalling, oxidative load, absorption, nervous-system regulation, cellular energy, and tissue integrity — and we are explicit that two of those are conditions rather than mechanisms. [The full explanation is here](/how-it-works), including where the model is ours rather than textbook.

## A realistic timeline, whatever you choose

We are not going to publish a week-by-week schedule of what you should feel and when. We have not run a controlled trial of this formula that would let us stand behind one, and a timeline presented as measurement when it is really an expectation is the kind of thing this article is telling you to distrust on someone else's label.

What we will say is that the programme runs ninety days and the guarantee runs ninety days, and that is the window we think is fair to judge it in.

Any product promising joint comfort in days is either an analgesic or overstating. Botanicals acting on inflammatory signalling do not work on that timescale, and claiming they do sets you up to quit at week three.

## Where Complete Inflammation Support sits

Thirteen actives across six areas. Standardized boswellia at 65% boswellic acids, turmeric, black pepper extract for absorption, resveratrol and matcha for oxidative load, and amino acids for the nervous-system side.

**What it will not do.** It is not an analgesic and will not help today. It does not work for everyone — some people do not tolerate specific botanicals, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. And it is not the cheapest option, because standardized extracts cost more than unstandardized ones.

**One thing we will be straight about:** our own label declares a 2,401mg proprietary blend alongside two individually disclosed nutrients. The standardization percentages are stated, so you know how concentrated each extract is, but not how much of it you are getting — that needs the individual milligrams, and those are not published. We would rather tell you that here than have you find it on the bottle.

If you take blood thinners, antidepressants, blood-pressure or diabetes medication, speak to your doctor first — see [who should not take boswellia](/post/who-should-not-take-boswellia).

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What should I look for in a joint supplement?

Standardized botanical extracts with the percentage stated, per-ingredient doses rather than a proprietary blend, an absorption strategy for curcumin, and coverage of more than one inflammatory mechanism.

### What is a proprietary blend and why does it matter?

It lists several ingredients under one combined weight, so you cannot tell how much of any single one you are taking. It makes meaningful comparison between products impossible.

### How long do joint supplements take to work?

Longer than most people expect. LanFam's programme runs ninety days, and the money-back guarantee runs the same length so there is time to judge it. We are describing the timeline we formulate around, not a schedule of results we have measured in a controlled trial. Products promising results in days are describing an analgesic effect rather than a signalling one.

### Is more milligrams better in an inflammation supplement?

Not on its own. A moderate dose of a standardized extract with an absorption strategy can outperform a larger dose of an unstandardized one that absorbs poorly.

### Can I take a joint supplement with my medication?

Ask your doctor first, particularly with blood thinners, antidepressants, blood-pressure or diabetes medication. Several common botanicals in this category have genuine interaction surface.
